Hey there blog people, I know I've been away but I'm back, at least for this cool post, and I got some others comin up too, but hark- read on for some new jams.

I learned about these guys through their single "Squad Car" which is a mean Garage Surf scorcher, didn't even realize they had about 25 songs worth of instro madness. Check it out and see what you think

Next up are two ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC Rocksteady LPs from the golden era. Both these dudes have a ton of singles to their names but I never really have seen LPs of either of them- and for a good reason, these things are rare as shit, and there's a reason, I guess, I imagine somebodys bought em all cuZ they fucking rule!

About a year ago I purchased a lot of about 150 gospel singles. These were the good kind, the southern black baptist kind-labels like Federal, Savoy, Nashboro, Jewel, Peacock, Songbird, Silver Fox. These labels were based in and put out music of Gospel singers in New Orleans, Houston, Memphis, Nashville and Louisville from their onset in the late 40's til they went out of business. I finally got around to making a tape of my favorites before I sell them all on ebay. Link is above. Enjoy.

This documentary looks like it's gonna be pretty amazing! If you don't know about the angriest man in america aka the winnebago man, basically it's a guy who, as I understand, was hired to be the salesman/mc for an RV company promotional vhs tape back in the 80's. He was so funny during the shoot that the crew kept the unused footage and edited it into its own little infomercial of insanity that became somewhat of a cult hit, although I'm too young to know if it was popular or not. Anyway, take a look at the original video:

This kingly thought IS quite kingly, if you think about it. Although nothing world shattering, I love common sense:

When you say to yourself, after reading something particularly engaging, "that's a real humdinger"- and after reading it you find that your first thought is, more often than not, to use its knowledge like a charm, or to share it with others- than you've got a real treat coming, namely my new section "Kingly Thought"!

I'll be writing things here that I didn't write, and I will not be discussing them.

Kingly Thought # 1

"The brain is organized to promote survival and procreation. Thus, cues that herald danger to survival, such as the growl of the sabertoothed tiger, are most salient and need to be learned only once.
